Kay’la Fraser is a soft spoken, quirky and passionate writer, performer and arts educator. Having fallen in love with the arts at a young age, she found a way to weave her passion for music, theatre and literature into a seamless, yet edgy tapestry through spoken word.
Since August 2008, Kay’la has worked diligently to establish herself as a serious competitor and contributing member of the greater arts community. She has represented both Burlington and Toronto on a national level and has had the opportunity to work with artists including: CR Avery, Tasha Jones and Dwayne Morgan.
Kay’la’s poem “My Definition” was published in Other Tongues: Mixed Race Women Speak Out in 2010. She is currently working on a full length book of poetry entitled “A Pocket Full of Poesy”, and her one woman play “Letters in the Sand” will be produced in Fall 2013.
